One Good Line ("the Service") is operated by Adi Chakrabarti ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
One Good Line delivers a single, original sentence by email or on the web each day. Some tiers include AI-personalized lines based on context you provide. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you may cancel anytime from your account page.
2. Payment, billing & Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms and our Refund Policy.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) resell, scrape, or republish the Service's content without permission; (b) attempt to disrupt, probe, reverse-engineer, or introduce malware to the Service; (c) use the Service for unlawful purposes, fraud, spam, or to infringe anyone's intellectual property; or (d) abuse the personalized-line feature with prompts intended to extract harmful, illegal, or third-party content.
4. AI-generated content
Some lines are generated using AI models. You are responsible for any context you submit (situation, emotions, needs) and for how you choose to act on the lines you receive. Outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, imperfect, or unsuitable for your circumstances, and are not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. Do not submit other people's personal data, copyrighted material you don't have rights to, or content intended to produce harmful outputs. We may filter, refuse, or remove outputs and may suspend accounts that repeatedly misuse the feature. If you believe a line infringes your rights, write to us at hello@onegoodline.org and we will review and act in good faith.
5. Intellectual property
All content delivered by One Good Line — including daily lines, personalized lines, site copy, and design — is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to read and enjoy the lines you receive. Reproduction or commercial use requires written permission.
6. Service level
We work hard to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is provided "as is" and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may close your account anytime from your account page.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
